Nucor is North America’s largest steel producer with over 300 facilities across the United States, Canada and Mexico. We have been pioneering sustainable steelmaking with electric arc furnace (EAF) technology for over 50 years offering a wide breadth of low-embodied carbon steel products and innovative construction solutions.
As an industry leader, Nucor has published over 20 Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for our wide range of steel products, including EPD coverage of nearly 100% of our steelmaking facilities. We plan to continue to grow our library of EPDs as we remain committed to transparency in our manufacturing processes and ensure sustainable material procurement for our customers.

Overview of Nucor and Our Low-Embodied Carbon Steel Products
- Nucor's team of specialists are ready to assist the design, fabrication, construction and owner communities from building project conception to completion.
- On average, we recycle 20 million tons of scrap annually at our 26 electric arc furnace (EAF) steel mills and in 2023 produced 25.2 million tons of steel and steel products, making Nucor North America’s largest steel producer.
- Approximately 32,000 teammates working safely at over 300 facilities in North America.
- Nucor’s average circular steelmaking greenhouse gas (GHG) intensity is approximately one-third the global average of extractive, blast furnace steelmakers for Scopes 1, 2 and 3.
- Nucor’s steel products contain an average of 77% recycled content (recycled amount varies by product).
- Nucor is committed to a 2050 net-zero, science-based greenhouse gas target as defined by the Global Steel Climate Council (GSCC), which includes Scopes 1, 2 and 3.
- Nucor maintains ISO 14001 certification at a majority of our facilities. This certification provides a framework for organizations to design, implement and continually improve their environmental performance.
