Superior Energy Efficiency: BASF WALLTITE closed-cell spray foam insulations hold some of the highest R-values per inch. These are aged R-values, unaffected by real-world impacts (air and moisture movement doesn’t affect these materials thermal performance like other insulations!)

Improve Indoor Air Quality: BASF has achieved GREENGUARD certification for many of its construction industry products. BASF’s entire Spray Foam insulation portfolio holds GREENGUARD Gold certification for verification of low-VOC performance.

Low Embodied Carbon: Due to its low global warming potential (GWP) blowing agent, optimized supply chains, high R-value to mass ratio, and regional foam production across North America, BASF’s ENERTITE, WALLTITE and SKYTITE systems, including those with ELASTOSPRAY BMB (Biomass Balance) isocyanate, are some of the lowest embodied carbon spray foam insulations available. This is further supported by 3rd party verified EPDs compared within the EC3 Tool, as well as independent certification of the mass balance approach which utilizes renewable natural gas generated from post-consumer waste from landfills, contributing to total product carbon footprint reductions of the BASF spray foam offering. More information on the ELASTOSPRAY BMB can be found here.

Other Sustainability Attributes: BASF spray foam systems have extensive Environmental Claims Validation (ECV) by UL Solutions, including: mold resistance, bio-content, renewable content and low-VOC emission validation. More information on these 3rd-party verified features can be found on the BASF spray foam website.

Resiliency and Adaptability: BASF closed-cell spray foam insulation and roofing materials are Miami-Dade Certified for adhesive performance and provide substantial wind-uplift resistance / high-velocity wind zone performance. Structures can survive the storm, not only with this level of durability, but a minimize reconstruction and waste reduction is seen when the spray foam performs as a secondary water barrier preventing extensive water damage. In addition, WALLTITE and SKYTITE are closed-cell rigid foam materials which are qualified as a Class 5 flood-damage insulation material by FEMA, allowing wash and remediation after a flood (no removal required). Last, the SKYTITE roofing system can be applied directly over existing roofing systems, eliminating tearoffs, helping to contribute to zero-waste construction approaches.

BASF Operations and Renewable Energy: The BASF polyurethane resin materials across their North American Polyurethane Systems sites are produced with renewable electricity sourced from wind and solar power (supported through Virtual Power Purchasing Agreements).
